Tibet Days 2025: Commemorating the 66th Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising and Celebrating the Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday

February 12, 2025 ・ International Campaign for TibetEvent

10 March 2025 will mark the 66th anniversary of the Tibetan Uprising Days of 1959, when thousands of Tibetans assembled in Lhasa, Tibet’s capital, and rose up to protest China’s invasion of their homeland.

To mark this occasion and honor the “Year of Compassion” in celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, ICT will be organising a series of events from 7 to 11 March.

Taking place in the Hague – where Tibetan communities in Europe will also gather on 10 March for the 6th European Solidarity Rally for Tibet – the three events will bring together scholars, activists, and thought leaders to explore the role of Tibet in the contemporary world, with a focus on the themes of resistance, cultural survival, and global solidarity, reflecting on Tibet’s past, present, and future.
