On 1 October, the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, Tibetans, Uyghurs and Chinese dissidents will gather in Brussels to commemorate the victims of Chinese repression and call for an end of China’s gross human rights abuses.

Tibetans and their friends from across Europe will convene in Brussels on 10 March this year for a mass solidarity rally commemorating the Tibetan National Uprising Day of 1959. The event will be an opportunity to highlight the continuing plight of Tibetans in Tibet and to seek renewed support in Europe for the non-violent freedom struggle of the Tibetan people.

On this occasion,the Tibetan Community in Belgium, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, FIDH and the International Campaign for Tibet are organising a protest to call on the EU to take a stand on the deteriorating human rights situation in China.
